The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – Jesus Christ.
As He has said in John 10:10. Our LORD desires our all in all, but the enemy wants the same. Satan’s goal is to derail all of God’s children in their destinies and rid them off their inheritance of abundance. Let us not be blindsided by the enemy by being unaware of the areas in our lives that we need to guard from the enemy.
These are the areas that Satan seeks to destroy, and how to fight him with the very Living Word of the LORD:
1. Your Heart
Satan will lure you to distract you, and he has no other reason nor purpose in luring you in. The enemy seeks to give us things that would replace God in our hearts. To have other masters other than God. Let us not be fooled, and assess ourselves daily to know if we are prioritizing and pursuing temporary things in our hearts instead of God and His eternal promises. God is either your Lord of all… or your none at all. Let us all pray!
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23
2. Your Worries
Satan wants you to doubt God’s love. In the way God provides, sustains, takes care of situations. The enemy will do his best to make us worry instead of us becoming a warrior when the challenges come. Take hold of God’s WORD in these times and do not let the enemy rule. In Jesus’ name!
3. Your Everyday Thinking
The enemy wants our minds to be conformed to the world. To the ways of the world. The devil’s favourite battlefield is the mind since he knows that he is indeed powerless before us. He cannot touch nor do anything to us. But the enemy prowls like a stealthy lion waiting for an opening to devour us. Let us all be sober in mind, and fill our thoughts with the righteousness and the very thoughts of Jesus Christ.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. – Philippians 4:8
4. Your Speech
We are created by God for unity and harmony, not for war and conflict. Let us be quick to listen and slow to speak. Our tongue is one of the most powerful part of our bodies for by it and what comes out of it can either build or destroy a relationship, a situation, or a nation. Guard our hearts always and let us be mindful before we say things.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. – Ephesians 4:29
5. Your Body
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. – Romans 12:1
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Satan wants to waste our bodies with ungodly practices that which defiles the very Word of the LORD, especially when it comes to purity and blamelessness.
Yes we are living on earth and we are fleshly beings with fleshly desires and urges, but by being transformed and renewed by our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 12:2), we will have this understanding that we are not spiritual beings, and we ought to be living in the spirit and not in flesh. Let us treat our bodies and offer it to practices that will glorify our One true God. Do not let the enemy waste your bodies away by succumbing to fleshly desires.
There is hope, healing and restoration in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is not too late to turn back from our wicked ways and surrender everything to God. There is hope for us!
