Today, May 3, 2016, I came across a prayer which I wrote to the Lord two years ago while I was having my devotion at the park near my area.
I read it again, and I was amazed at how the Lord impressed to me how He really values our secret petitions and prayers to Him. Even if they are a year or a decade old ago requests already!
Here was my prayer:
Thank You Lord. For all the blessings, day by day. I just want to express my feelings of gratitude upon all the great things that have been happening with the people around me, specially with my family and my church. I don’t think I have to enumerate these blessings by the dot, since I know You already know what I am talking about. Thank You!
Today, Lord, I just want to ask for more of Your “pushes” for me to focus on my goals and purposes in life. Please continue to guide me on where I should be lead in terms of the things that are happening in my journey.
Please give me more focus on my passions in life, like my drive to practice and embrace my skills with singing and playing the guitar and ukulele. I want to persevere on this passion for me to have a more productive past time(?) and also so I can progress my skills on helping on the ministry.
I wanted to also pray for my family’s goals and dreams that each and everyone of them will be able to reach or atleast focus on whatever their desires in life are — I am hoping that the purpose of their actions are still to glorify Your name.
I am praying for focus on getting my G2 driver’s license; mainly for reasons that my program demands some driving skills. And I also want to be of help for my family in terms of driving.
Please strengthen my passion of helping and serving others. I sometimes fall short on this part because I get shy or overthink too much of what people are going to say.
May all of us get to know You more, God. I pray that people will realize that their main goals in life is to seek, follow, obey, trust, and surrender to You.
Thank You, Lord! This I pray in the Mighty name of Jesus, AMEN!
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” — 1 John 5:14-15 NIV
What’s amazing is, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8), so anything we ask for in His name, and believe that He hears it, then we will have what we prayed for. No matter how long ago we have prayed for it.
For this past 2 years, a lot of the things I have prayed for have already answered by Him, and most of them are just recently! It’s amazing how He never forgets what we prayed for! He will give the desires of our hearts in His perfect will and in His perfect timing.
Think back, a year or two… or maybe 10 years ago. What were some of the things you have prayed to God for and just now or recently are being answered? I am sure there are a lot. You may have just forgotten that you DID pray for them, but He did NOT forget! And He is answering them now!
THANK HIM DAILY. Thank Him for being a great and faithful God! Thank You Lord!
Be blessed!
