Our worship team have worship practice for our Sunday Service every Saturday afternoons. We usually do group conversations, talking about our week, what impressions have we gotten from God, before we start our practice.
This Saturday, we talked about a word that describes our week.
Rest, Exciting, Tired, Packed… we had alot of different words describing how our week was, but whatever the case was during our week, we still praised and thanked the Lord.
Thanking the Lord in ALL circumstances. It’s an easy “phrase” to say, but really hard to do for alot of us.
When we started our pre-worship, our worship leader asked us to reflect on God’s faithfulness in our lives. To reflect on what we did in the past, what we are doing now, and all the situations that we were and are experiencing, and see God’s faithfulness in all of those circumstances. And as we did, so vividly, I saw:
A ray of light, from each and everyone of us in the room. A light emanating, glowing, and projecting a slanted, upwards pattern from our heads. We were in a circle during this time.
Slowly, the light from each and everyone of us started to ascend upwards, as if to meet in the middle of our circle. And just like that, I saw life experiences passed to my vision like a strip of a movie film.
I felt sadness from our childhood experiences. I saw a form of rejection, oppression, and suppression. I saw emotional pain. I saw loneliness.
I saw all those emotions got lifted up from those lights as they all meet in the middle of our circle.
Then as they accumulate in the middle, those lights meeting in the middle suddenly started forming something.
A jewel. I saw this beautiful green jewel, on my mind I thought it was an emerald or a jade colour. The green jewel started forming slowly and slowly as all those emotions got collected in the middle. Then as it got completed, the jewel became as prominent in my vision as can be.
“Ezekiel 16.” I heard God speak to me.
What is Ezekiel 16? With my 1 year and 10 months walk with the Lord, I have never come across the book of Ezekiel yet, so I was wondering what what in that Scripture. We finished our pre-worship and I quickly checked what it said.
4 On the day you were born, no one cared about you. Your umbilical cord was not cut, and you were never washed, rubbed with salt, and wrapped in cloth. 5 No one had the slightest interest in you; no one pitied you or cared for you. On the day you were born, you were unwanted, dumped in a field and left to die.
6 “But I came by and saw you there, helplessly kicking about in your own blood. As you lay there, I said, ‘Live!’ 7 And I helped you to thrive like a plant in the field. You grew up and became a beautiful jewel.
Ezekiel 16:4-7 NLT
I wanted to cry. I felt the pain of people. God is saying, no matter what you have gone through before, rejection, depression, corruption… that was before! When God said, “LIVE!” you have already gotten past your death. You have already overcome.
Always remind yourself of God’s faithfulness in your life. You may be like me who is on his 20’s, or like my mom who is on her 50’s, or even like my dad who is on his 80’s. Think of all those circumstances you have gone through — YOU SURVIVED! YOU HAVE OVERCOME! The fact that you are reading this right now only means one thing. God has been faithful in your LIFE!
Thank the Lord in all circumstances. Remember Him not only on your wholeness, but especially on your brokenness.
God bless you.
