There are four seasons in a year, these are Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each season has a significant importance in the weather and environment of our surroundings, each season plays a role in the cycle of nature and in life. In the same way, we experience seasons in our lives wherein we undergo hardships, sufferings, pain and death as well as positive outcomes like joy, growth and new beginnings. The seasons of nature and seasons of our lives are both similar don’t you think so?
Spring
New beginnings and growth, budding of flowers, the conserved strength from winter, there is rapid growth from the plants and land is cultivated to bring forth more crops.
In this season, the conserved strength and energy are being drawn out to form new beginnings and growth. In each person’s life there will be a time where we will be tested and our character, talents and our motives will be revealed, just like a seed that has been planted and cultivated, the kind of plant and fruit will be shown in this season.
Summer
More growth and blossoming of flowers, plants and trees, a season of harvest and yield of crops.
There is rapid growth in this season, the leaves grow and expand, and the plants grow bigger and flowers blossom even more. People are highly motivated and are burning with passion with their faith in this season. They want to learn more about the Word of God and their relationship with God and others are at their best and its peak. They encourage people who are in a different season from their own.
Fall/Autumn
A time of falling leaves, beautiful autumn colors of yellow, orange and red mixing in with the evergreen trees.
This is a time of sufferings and hardships, death and endings. The people are going through a lot of pain and loneliness in their life. Though it might be painful, there is beauty in being molded, purified, refined and cleansed. Though there is a little bit of relief from letting go of relationships and endings, it is never easy having to go through the valley in this season.
Winter
A time of pause, hibernation and conserving strength
A pause in the growth and there is waiting and longing for the next season in our lives. A lot of reflection and realization in our lives takes place in here. There will be little to no growth and difference in the appearance but there is growth and energy welling up within us. This is a time of Selah – a pause.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
