We are made to last eternity. There is more to life than just here and now.
“And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” — 1 John 2:17
Before, I used to value all the things I have in my life. Money, cellphones, computers… I value them more than people too! I was one of those people who don’t appreciate their own kind; instead, they live in a “world” where they seem to feel important or significant. Unfortunately for me, the “world” I prepared myself for was the world of internet. It was the world where I felt I have been accepted, given importance, or at least (ironically) physically felt significant.
When you live in light of eternity, your values change.
When I met God, almost all the earthly things that I valued before seemed to NOT matter anymore. This change that happened to me is so abrupt, it even scared me at first. How can a person like me, who even de-valued other people, can suddenly start focusing his life for — eternity? Only God can answer that.
I believe that God has His purposes why these kinds of changes happened to me very sudden. And I am very much willing to follow His purposes for me; to God be the glory!
The power of knowing your purpose. Before I just go with whatever flow comes my way, especially with my faith with God. Going to different churches, Bible Studies, sharing experiences, but not really reflecting on any of God’s Words that I hear. That was the typical Justin.
Now, I can even openly commit myself to be used for Jesus’ glory. I can openly share my experiences with His grace to others, without thinking what anyone would even say once I share my story. It is super unbelievable, even for me who is experiencing this change.
If you lean to love God’s and trust God’s son, Jesus, you will be invited to spend the rest of eternity with Him.
