Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. – Deuteronomy 5:33
Last May, I was invited by a very dear Pastor of mine to share my music and my testimony at a Youth Variety Show Night at their church in Toronto. I prayed to the Lord for His instructions, and so I received a go signal from Him to attend. When God says “Go”, sometimes He doesn’t have any other instructions that come with it. This is when our faith and obedience to Him get tested and exercised. I obeyed God’s go signal without hesitation, and so this is where the testimony starts.
While driving to their church, I noticed a red coloured symbol that looked like a thermometer popping in and out of the dashboard. I and my sister ignored it as we drove the busy streets of Toronto until the red symbol stayed there and so I was alarmed and asked my sister to research what that symbol meant. It meant the car was basically over-heating and that the symbol is indicating serious matters regarding the engine of the car as well.
By God’s miracle and grace, we were about a minute or two from our destination so I managed to drive the car exactly where their parking lot was. I was just about to turn off the car when I started seeing the engine overheat and smoking, and as we got down, I saw the car coolant leaking under the car. It was a miracle that we made it to the church!
My brothers called and told me to call for road side assistance right away because it was already night time, but the Lord told me to calm down, relax, and have His peace.
In the verge of victories and breakthroughs, the enemy will always make sure to delay, derail and distract us so we won’t get to be triumphant. But take heart, for GOD has overcome the world!
I carried His peace as I entered the church, and prioritized what I came there for. To do His will. Thank You Lord, I was able to share my music, and also delivered a small testimony to glorify God in my life.
To cut the long story short, after that day, the wonderful church I went to has taken the matters to their hands, and towed my car to the auto repair shop. By the way, who says there is no God when it just so happens that one of the church’s pastors owns an auto repair shop? God is great! In this world full of challenges especially with gas prices going up and the economic status is going down, God can show how vast and powerful He is by using such vessels of glory to bless me and my car by fixing it and paying for the service and labour for it as well. This is not boasting; this is called obedience!
Obedience takes us to places. As ironic as it sounds, I was able to travel to places and hearts by obeying the commandment of God despite the car breakdown that happened that day. Thank You Lord for the youths of the church as well for sharing for gifts and talents for the glory of God, and for the Wisdom of God for driving us about 20 miles to home. Yes, the youth’s name is Wisdom!
BE EMPOWERED!
