FAMILY — A group consisting of parents and children living together in a household.
Who is in your family? Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Uncle, Aunt, Cousin, Etc.
What does God say about family?
Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you. — Deutoronomy 5:16
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. — Exodus 20:12
Why is your family so important?
- God cares NO MATTER what,
- The enemy wants to take your family too.
— When a man and woman marry, they “cleave” or stick like paste or cement.
— That’s why when they get ripped apart, it hurts; painful.
A picture of how to love and obey God:
- God began the first marriage
- Blessed the first family
- He gave the laws to the home
Parents should love Him, their lives as well as their lips.
- Do your part in your family. (10 Commandments; #5)
- Disobedience goes to bitterness, which goes to loss of respect to authority, which goes to opening a lot of gates of sins.
The Lord Jesus must be the first “boss” of your family. Dad is to be next, then mother in that order. The rest if the family are to be subject to them.
You are to love, honour, and obey your parents as you would obey your Lord.

As long as you live in their home, and as long as they ask you to do anything that God doesn’t forbid in the Book then we should gladly obey.
Question: Did you ever think that maybe God could use your unsaved parents to speak to you? It is easy to blame them for all their wrong. But what if God is using them to point out to you your own lack of love for people who are rotten?
LOVE IS A CHOICE.
If parents go wrong… know who you are and whose you are.
