Inadequacy. The state or quality of being inadequate; lack of the quantity or quality required. As per how the Dictionary defines it.
We can only be so strong to be able to deal with our situations… with our lives. There will be a time when we can only handle so much, no matter how independent or capable we are at dealing with our circumstances. But before we fall down the notion of defeat in our situations, we need to remember two principles for us to turn the tides around, and come out victorious in all our inadequacies in life.
Principle #1: Embrace Your Inadequacy.
It is the first step towards receiving God’s power to change you, work in you, and through you.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
Embrace your inadequacies and let your weaknesses humble you so you will depend wholly on God.
By accepting that we can not do everything on our own, we will be able to realize that only when we are with God is when we are capable of handling everything. Our strength does NOT come from ourselves alone. With God, we can do all things! (Philippians 4:13)
Principle #2: Embrace The Adequacy of Christ.
We can delight in our weaknesses, for it is the opportunity of God to prove Himself strong in us.
“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” — 2 Corinthians 12:10
Know and believe that with God, nothing is impossible. He turns our tests into testimonies. Our trials into triumph. For when we are WEAK in ourselves, then we are STRONG in the grace of God.
With these two principles, we are guaranteed to overcome our shortcomings, be they physically…or financially…
Accept that we are inadequate, and accept that God is adequate. With God, we can turn our inadequacies into power!
